Replacement of an existing two-story wood-frame previously elevated above the 100-year flood-plain. Keeping the ground-level structure, the scope is an elevated “ground-up” two-story structure.

• Construction exceeds Pennsylvania energy code requirements

• Double-pane glazing, low-E, argon-filled windows

• Specification of LED lighting throughout

• Specification of long lifespan cladding

• Radiant flooring

• Window placement configured to minimize summer heat gain
and maximize prevalent cross-breezes

CDR Named Semi-Finalist for Providence Park Pavilion

CDR Studio is pleased to have been named a semi-finalist for its proposal for architecture services for the Providence (Rhode Island) Innovation District Park Pavilion. CDR conceived the pavilion as an anchor in the Providence City Walk—a circular, 360-degree-view gathering place in the necklace created by the Martin S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge and adjacent parks. The proposal addressed resiliency concerns and incorporated sustainable architectural components.

CDR Studio Named "Movers & Shakers" Finalist

CDR Studio Architects was named a Top 10 finalist — out of more than 500 entries from small businesses in New York and New Jersey — in the "Movers & Shakers" Small Business Competition sponsored by Investors Bank, the New Jersey Devils and WCBS 880 (WCBS-AM). The competition was put on hold earlier in the year because of the pandemic, but judging resumed in late summer, and the winners and finalists were celebrated in a virtual ceremony held at the end of October 2020.

CDR Plays Role in Crafting Waterfront Plan

CDR Studio was part of the team led by the NYC Department of City Planning for creating the City's 2021 Comprehensive Waterfront Plan, a public document published every 10 years. The current version, released in December 2021, includes a writing credit for our very own Kathryn Roberts.

Victoria A. Rospond, AIA, Principal

(1961 – 2021)

It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Victoria Rospond, Principal at CDR Studio Architects, who succumbed on August 10, 2021, after a year-long battle with cancer. An award-winning architect with incredible talent, a mentor to young architects and a trailblazer for women in architecture, Victoria will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
